Abstract:
Nandamuri
Lakshmi Parvarthi is a noted political personality in the South Indian Telugu
region. Upon marrying Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), she became a political
sensation and her future political prospects were much anticipated. Proving the
same anticipated predictions, she had a brief stint of top role in the Telugu
Desam Party (TDP), established and primarily led by NTR. Her visible dominant
political prospectus and expectations bloomed much upon marrying NTR. However,
she has been exposed to varied (political) ideological variations since her
childhood. Starting from her father’s Communist ideology and activist
leadership; as a Sanskrit student and
scholar her blossomed and exposed interest in Hindutva ideology by associating
with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP); due to her being born Kamma caste
background - her keen observations and interest in NTR’s led TDP; becoming a
faction leader of NTR TDP opposing Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership after
NTR’s demise; and finally joining and continuing her political prospectus under
Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). Thus, so far in her
entire life span, she has been exposed to and associated with five varied
political ideological platforms. The paper vividly captures and analyses these
prominent ideological phases in her political life. Methodologically, the paper
is drafted based on synthesising available digital qualitative sources.
Keywords: Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Region, Telugu Desam Party (TDP),
